How will you describe information technology in Spain

How will you describe information technology in Spain?
I'm a web developer, and somebody's offering me to work in Spain. Is IT good in Spain (particularly Barcelona)? How about the pay, compensation packages, tax, cost of living? Should I accept the offer?

If the salary is high enough, take it...Spain is opening very fast to the new technologies ... (Like the other person told you, at least 2000 euros a month starting wages so you can cover rent, food and other expenses.) The highest salaries for compùter experts are in Luxembourg and Ireland...if you can find work there you are really at the top! But Barcelona is a great city to live in. There is so much to see and do there, that you will find yourself short of free time to visit the wonders of the city. And from there you have the rest of Europe at your doorstep! In Spain, once you start working, you automatically have medical coverage by the social security. (you will have to get a spanish social security card.) Taxes are not as high as in the rest of Europe, cost of living has gone up, but no worse than every where else. If you think you would enjoy the change DO IT! Spain is marvelous...(I've lived here 34 years and still haven't seen everything!) My son is in the same field as you, and he has worked in London, Luxembourg, Dublin, and is now in Grenoble, France... Variety is the spice of life in your field...Don't pass up the chance for good experience...It'll look wonderful on your curriculum. I have a godson, also in the same field...He IS from Barcelona...and just found a great job in Paris...so you never know. You may become addicted to Europe . Whatever you decide I wish you good luck!
