Can someone travel to the states with a work visa in spain?
I have someone that i love dearly in Spain. He's from Dominican Republic I met him in Spain and he has a work visa. He says he can't travel outside europe. IS there a way he can come here just to visit?

Ummm. NO. A work visa for Spain is for Spain, not for the US. To come to the US he needs a visa for the US. Each country issues such papers for their own country, not for the whole world. He knows what he's talking about.

He must apply for a B-2 tourist visa.He can use the site below and follow directions there. It will not be easy, as the U.S. is very strict about giving tourist visas. It would be far easier for you to visit there, since you do not need a visa.

To visit you in the U.S. the following is required: 1. Completion by him of a US Visa application. 2. Letter of invitation from you guaranteeing your financial support of him in the US and that he will be living with you for the period. 3. Without your invitation he must have proof of funds to enter the US as a tourist - and he must provide evidence of which hotel he is booked into and details of his travel itinerary. 4. He will also require prepaid flight tickets for his entry and exit flights. There is absolutely no guarantee that he will be given a visa. It is not so easy to get into the US anymore. You go to a real estate agent, You find a place you like. You negotiate if you think they are flexible. You sign a lease. You pay your rent, and move in. (1 month security deposit is normal).

You may choose to do this privately or through an Agent. If you choose to do it privately you will be well advised to ensure that all aspects of the terms and contract are fully legal, as many people choose to do this on a a "cash" basis. On the other hand some Agents all charge a finders fee to both the Tenant and Landlord for their services. As landlord or tennant? Either way, it is easy. Most rents ask for three months rent up front. Two months deposit (which is very difficult to get back) and one (or two ) month's rent in advance. Personally I would only give one month's rent as a deposit or go else where. Short term rental agreements are very simple and easy to understand. Always take local advice. Avoid any agency that has not got lots of years in the business. API agencies are the only ones to deal with if you have no local knowledge and cannot read the Spanish contract yourself.

When I first looked into renting in Spain, I was quite surprised to discover the huge percentage of rental property available furnished. I was also surprised at the cost-per-square-foot, and the average age of both property and furnishings, but most surprising was the 'three-months-up-front' that most landlords demanded. One for the security-deposit, one for the first month, and one for the realtor. Given the difficulty to evict tenants (okupas) in Spain, it may be understandable, but you are likely to find a better deal if you can find a rental property without an agent, and if you provide yourself enough time to negotiate. Especially nowadays, negotiate.

I have seen many sites that allow you to send free sms messages to mobile phones. I tried a few like gizmo and text4free. No messages arrive when I send myself a text. Can anyone suggest a working free sms service? I think these sites are maybe just phishing....THX
