It will work. Some network operator in Spain has their service at 900/1800 mhz, except Xfera which only use 2100mhz and 3G service.Upon selecting what operator should you use, make sure that the respective operator has that 1800mhz on your area.Sometimes cellphone operator use 1800 only in urban area, and 900mhz in rural area. The advantage of lower frequency is wider coverage but less quality (it still decent you know). Here is a list of operators in Spain together with their frequencies http://gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/cou_es.shtml

Will my Tracfone work in Spain
Will my Tracfone work in Spain?
I've had a Tracfone for years and I'll be going to Spain for a few months. I'll need to use my phone for use in Spain and to call the US. Will it work?
